Analysis
Artifact 1: Field Evaluation
This artifact reflects my overall experience of student teaching, from my University supervisor's observations of my teaching, in the classroom. I worked very hard to reflect on each experience and adjust my teaching methods and strategies accordingly. I strive to be the best teacher for my students and one of the best ways is to continuously reflect and self-assess. |
Artifact 2: Recommendation Letter
This was an eye-opening experience to formally read what other professionals think of my progress as a student teacher, while hitting all of the goals I set for myself. I focused on my ELL students, classroom management and content knowledge in this 10 week placement. My cooperating teacher saw my direct focus in these areas and addressed them in this letter. It made me feel accomplished and successful in achieving my goals as a student teacher. |
Synthesis
Artifact 1: Field Evaluation
As a student teacher I feel more than prepared to enter my own classroom. However, I feel that my learning is only begun. As a first year teacher, I will have a different set of challenges and successes. I look forward to learning from and leaning on other seasoned professionals in my learning community to be the best teacher I can be for my students. |
Artifact 2: Recommendation Letter
I feel that I have grown since this letter was written by my 10-week cooperating teacher. I have completed my electronic portfolio and the action research project on reading fluency in 4th graders. I consistently feel that with my education and experiences, I am continually changing and forming the "best practices" necessary for my students. |
